Microsoft released Beta 1 of Windows Live Messenger tonight.  Only a small group of testers were "allowed" in but more will be testing later on.  I am sure it will get leaked to the file sharing services in a few hours so just sit back and wait.  In the mean time you can read up on it at the official Windows Live Messenger Blog.
