The New Way To Advertise Is On Digital Paper

Siemens Digital Paper

Siemens has developed a type of “paper” that will allow text to be displayed digitally. This is would allow manufacturers to fully utilize their advertisement on the packaging of their products. This is made possible by ultra-thin batteries that were recently developed and, of course, some science. The goal is to have manufacturers put these on their packaging to display the logo, product name, or even price of the item. This would especially draw the attention of young children who would be lured to the flashing text and pictures. That’s right, they can even make the text flash by providing a charge to the display and then removing the electric charge. It does sound expensive to make, and while Kodak has made a similar item that costs $40 to manufacture, Siemens comes in on top at 30 cents!

So when the battery dies on your package - can you still buy it?

I am sure the user would still be able to purchase it but official details on it are yet to be released.
