As much as I like Microsoft Office 12 Beta 1, I do have to give OpenOffice.org credit for how far they have come. It is very very similar to Microsoft Office 2003 which is really what pushed Microsoft to have to redesign practically the whole Office Suite. As if you didn’t know, OpenOffice is completely FREE, and there is no spam or spyware or any of that junk. You will get the word processor (similar to Microsoft Word), spreadsheet (similar to Microsoft Excel), presentation builder (similar to Microsoft PowerPoint), and database (similar to Microsoft Access) software. It is complete with features such as mail-merge and saving a document in Microsoft Office formats.
