Google Talk And AIM Coming Together

Google Talk

The news is out that Google Talk and AOL Instant Messenger will allow for communication between the two different networks. This is big because it is going to challenge Microsoft and Yahoo to push for some sort of interoperability in order to survive in the messenger world. I am currently a Google Talk user, and only a Google Talk user. I am very impressed with the voice quality that I get when using it to communicate with people. From my experiences, it is much clearer than Skype is and just as easy to use. Also, the interface is the most simplistic that I have seen to date, but I feel like I accomplish the most using it. It is a very simple program, so if you like the abundance of features found in AIM then you may not want to switch over to Google Talk just yet.
