It looks like Microsoft is having some serious issues with Windows Vista. They just recently pushed the release date back to January in hopes to demonstrate the release at the 2007 CES show. The issue that is really pulling them down this time is the Media Center capabilities.
Many people have been talking about how much they dislike having the 'X' on each tab in the new Firefox 2 Alpha 1 that was just released.
After months of denying any claims it looks as though Dell and Alienware have stepped up and finalized the acquisition. Dell has been looking to get into the gaming industry for quite some time now and they did it in a way that upsets many people. It has been about 3 months since Avant Browser was last updated and it was just updated again today. I don't personally use this browser but I have before and it is a nice alternative to Internet Explorer.

Microsoft is finally letting everyone have the ability to get notified when new beta releases of their software have been made available.
There have been a lot of visitors to my site to download the Tinderbox Build of Firefox 2.0 Alpha 1. The downside to this build is that the uninstaller does not work properly and there are a lot of extension incompatibilities. I have since devised the best solution that i can think of so that people can test this version without messing up any other Firefox installations.
While browsing the Tinderbox Builds on the Mozilla FTP server I found that they placed Firefox 2 Alpha 1 on there. A Tinderbox Build means that it may not be what gets released, but often it is. This was just placed on there today which makes sense because the code lockdown was last night.
The final release of Google Desktop Search 3 now includes a feature called a 'Quick Search Box'. This search box is pictured above and will appear in the center of your screen as soon as you hit the CTRL key twice. You can hide the box by hitting the CTRL two more times. Those people that do not use the sidebar will find this feature extremely useful.
Azureus is one of the most popular and most updated BitTorrent clients that are available. Just today they released the next version of Azureus with the build number 2.4.0.2! They have not put it on their official site yet, but it is on their SourceForge site.
Google is always taking people by storm, and now they are taking people to Mars. Just like the normal Google Maps you can switch between different modes: Elevation, Visible, and Infrared. These are the differences between the different modes:Elevation - A shaded relief map, generated with data from the Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter (MOLA) on NASA's Mars Global Surveyor spacecraft.
Finally, Microsoft has released the Technical Refresh for Office 2007 and it is GREAT! They have fixed many of the bugs that I found which increases the usability tremendously.
Sorry I haven't been doing many postings lately but I am back now from being out of town. The first thing that I checked when I got back was the status of Firefox 2 Alpha 1. Unfortunately it still hasn't been released but now we have some more dates that sound promising. The code freeze is planned for today (Thursday) and then the release is scheduled for Tuesday.
Every tech person has a fantasy to work at Google, and not because of their current popularity but rather because of what they hear the benefits are. From game rooms and candy shops all the way to pools, Google employees get all of the perks. The meals they get are absolutely amazing and intimidating for most work places.
With the recent acquisition of Writely by Google many people are wondering what Google's next move is going to be. Speculation is that they are going to try and create a whole Online Office Suite which means that they will probably go after an Online Spreadsheet company next.
For those of you who have not heard of Writely before then you may find this quite exciting. Writely is a word processor that you can use on the web which offers you the ability to edit your documents anywhere.
It looks like Microsoft has updated their Office 2007 information site with some new screenshots. They appear to have made everything a little more streamlined and slightly more graphics oriented.
