Windows Vista Delay Costs Microsoft $500 Million

It looks like Microsoft is having some serious issues with Windows Vista. They just recently pushed the release date back to January in hopes to demonstrate the release at the 2007 CES show. The issue that is really pulling them down this time is the Media Center capabilities.

Dell has been looking to get into the gaming industry for quite some time now and they did it in a way that upsets many people. People are worried that Alienware is going to go downhill from this point.

Microsoft Windows Vista Release Pushed Back To January 2007

Microsoft has made the decision that Windows Vista won't be ready in time for the holiday season! They almost make it sound like no one was expecting it. The release was originally scheduled for 2005 and then it got pushed back to 2006 AND WinFX was removed.

It has been about 3 months since Avant Browser was last updated and it was just updated again today. I don't personally use this browser but I have before and it is a nice alternative to Internet Explorer.

There have been a lot of visitors to my site to download the Tinderbox Build of Firefox 2.0 Alpha 1. The downside to this build is that the uninstaller does not work properly and there are a lot of extension incompatibilities. I have since devised the best solution that i can think of so that people can test this version without messing up any other Firefox installations.

Mozilla Firefox 2 Alpha 1 Available For Download

While browsing the Tinderbox Builds on the Mozilla FTP server I found that they placed Firefox 2 Alpha 1 on there. A Tinderbox Build means that it may not be what gets released, but often it is. This was just placed on there today which makes sense because the code lockdown was last night.

Google Desktop Search 3 Sports A Quick Search Feature

The final release of Google Desktop Search 3 now includes a feature called a 'Quick Search Box'. This search box is pictured above and will appear in the center of your screen as soon as you hit the CTRL key twice. You can hide the box by hitting the CTRL two more times. Those people that do not use the sidebar will find this feature extremely useful.

Google is always taking people by storm, and now they are taking people to Mars. Just like the normal Google Maps you can switch between different modes: Elevation, Visible, and Infrared. These are the differences between the different modes:Elevation - A shaded relief map, generated with data from the Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter (MOLA) on NASA's Mars Global Surveyor spacecraft.

Firefox 2 Alpha 1 Release Planned For Tuesday

Sorry I haven't been doing many postings lately but I am back now from being out of town. The first thing that I checked when I got back was the status of Firefox 2 Alpha 1. Unfortunately it still hasn't been released but now we have some more dates that sound promising. The code freeze is planned for today (Thursday) and then the release is scheduled for Tuesday.
