Many people have wanted the ability to ditch Microsoft Outlook and replace it with Mozilla Thunderbird. Your solution is here and it is called Mozilla Lightning. This is nice because it will let you keep track of your everyday schedule right in Thunderbird.
Michael Arrington from TechCrunch was able to get his hands on some screenshots of the Google Calendar project that is named CL2. This is definitely a lot more exciting than the previous leaked fake screenshots. They have many features implemented that will allow the calendar to act very similar to Outlook's calendar in my opinion.
A Digger realized that in the meeting notes from today the Firefox team said that they are hoping for Firefox 2.0 Alpha 1 to be released in the next 3-4 days. It has been about a month since the scheduled release of Alpha 1 and there are many people anxious to toy around with it and have some fun.

EDIT: Firefox 1.5.0.2 is still a TinderBox release which means it is not 100% official! However, most TinderBox releases do not get changed before their official release.

Rumors of the Google Calendar have been on the web for about two-weeks but we have not see any solid information...until now. This is the first shot that we have had of the Google Calendar that we are all anxiously waiting to play with. It looks like they are going to keep it basic with just the adding of events and tasks along with multiple different views.
We have all seen the bird's eye view perspective that some mapping applications have, but have you ever see mapping software that will actually show you what it is like while you are driving? This is definitely a first for me and surprising it was Microsoft that has brought it to us and not Google.
Go to the TextPayMe Homepage and sign up for an account. They will give you $5 for free AND if you can refer 36 of your friends then you will win an Xbox 360 yourself! After you sign up for your account, go to the 'My Account' section, then select the 'Referrals' tab. You can then select which friends you want to send the links to or you can display a banner similar to the one above.
As seen in the above image, Google may be experimenting with a new search attribute on their search pages. I welcome the addition of the Date drop-down box because it helps to reduce your results to display the most current articles only.

If you are a fan of Google, then you may find this post amusing and useful. Google has many alternate domains that will take you to the Google homepage other than just 'Google.com'. They also have sites like 'Ho.org' or 'Titanium-spork.com' for some of the funny examples. One of the more useful links that I found was 'GoogleMaps.com' which will take you to the Google Local site.

Lately there has been a lot of news sites scrambling to get information on the secretive device by Microsoft called Origami. The excitement that people have over this device is absolutely amazing, and people are making it sound as revolutionary as the iPod.
The popular GDrive has been around for over a year now. If you use this Windows Explorer add-on then you can easily store files using the 2700MB in your GMail account. The problem is that Google does not authorize this service and could cause your account to get suspended.
Months ago we reported on the $100 laptop that is going to be sold around the world, and now they appear to be going away from the initial 'green' design that they once had in mind. The new colors that are being portrayed around the web are quite snazzy and shows that the designers have a fashionable side to them.
I recently changed my wallpaper to the image that you see above. It goes very well with my Silver Theme in Windows XP and it is very amusing to show people. The 'men' in the image kind of remind me of the Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters. The only downside is that the wallpaper is not for a widescreen computer.
iPod rumors are always floating around the web, but this rumor seems to match what Apple filed a patent for recently. The iPod that will be released is rumored to have a 4" screen and operate similar to the picture above. The click-wheel will be replaced by a type of touch screen interface so that the user has the maximum amount of screen space possible.
Dell Home has the Inspiron 6000 for $899 with a $250 rebate. Get a $35 coupon on eBay to make it $614.

It looks like there were a lot of our users that took our previous article about the Technorati Favorites to heart.
The word on the street is that Google has been and will continue buying AMD products over Intel. Google currently owns 200,000 servers and AMD could start to see a lot of business from Google as they continue to expand or need to replace/upgrade the existing servers. The funniest part is that Intel's Chief Executive is on Google's board.
The advertisement that you see above is from CompUSA ... from the year 1994! Just when you feel like you are busting the bank to get that $600 laptop, think about how bad it was 12 years ago just to get a little portability.
