Yahoo Mail Beta users are going to be getting some much-needed upgrades. They will be rolling out the upgrades to users in waves so if you don't see the new features then don't go crazy.
Opera has made available a new release of their popular browser for the Windows Mobile platform. Opera 8.6 gives users a wonderful tabbed browsing experience and the ability to use a horizontal viewing mode. The mobile edition is not free unlike the desktop version of Opera. It is available for $24 but a 30-day trial is available to ensure that the browser is right for you.
Google has now stated that they have no intentions to build their own Web browser. I didn't think they would since they have "partnered" with Mozilla to promote Firefox. I think that Google is content with extending Firefox and Internet Explorer to make those browsers as useful as possible.

GMail has added two languages, Arabic and Hebrew, to its long list of languages they support. They also allow users to change the text direction, Left to Right or Right to Left, while composing messages which will makes Google truly compatible with those languages. It looks like GMail may get a whole new fan base.

Adobe has released 7.08 and it is available for download. They do not currently have this version on their Updates Page but I am sure it will appear soon. I haven't heard what is new in this release but I am sure it is nothing to pounce on. If you have it installed on your computer I would just wait for Adobe Reader to automatically update itself.

The PirateBay.org was one of the leading torrent sites on the Web, but their site disappeared this morning when their servers were confiscated by police. I always loved visiting their site because each time that they received a cease-and-desist letter they would post it to their site and make funny remarks about it.
Mozilla has finally come up with an estimated date for Firefox 2 Beta 1: July 6! The code freeze is supposed to occur on June 29 and by that point we should see the visual refresh implemented.

Microsoft has finally released Windows Live OneCare which is designed to be your PC's one-stop solution for PC protection. They were actually intelligent when they priced the software at $49.95, which you may be thinking "I can go and get Norton for less than that!" You are right, however, Microsoft lets you install OneCare on 3 computers for each license that you purchase.
The popular Slashdot CSS redesign contest has come to an end and we have a winner (screenshot above). Alex Bendiken has been awarded the grand prize which was a laptop along with the opportunity to brag that he redesigned Slashdot. The 2nd place Peter Lada walked away with a $250 gift card to ThinkGeek.
Jake Ludington shows us how easy it is to download YouTube videos by using a site called KeepVid. Using KeepVid you enter the YouTube URL into the text box on the homepage and press "Download". The site will then give you the download link you need to use in order to download the movie. It doesn't get much easier than that, unless of course YouTube offered download links directly on their site.

It looks like Microsoft has finally launched a site that is dedicated to the Windows Sidebar so that users can download gadgets. Now don't get all excited because there is only 8 gadgets on the site so they must be relying on user submissions.
