Is Google Pushing To Release Unlimited Data Storage?

We have been expecting Google to release a competing service to Microsoft’s Live Drive. Garett Rogers from Googling Google noticed that Google has added a new line to their Robots.txt file:

Disallow: /uds/

While he is not completely sure what “uds” would represent he did come up with a possible solution: Unlimited Data Storage.

It would make sense that this would be in the Robots.txt file because that file tells search engines what directories they CANNOT go into. This would mean that Google does not want anything in the “uds” directory to be indexed.

Hopefully this is true because it would be exciting to see a storage service supplied by Google.
