Yahoo Makes Video Site

It looks like Yahoo doesn’t want to get left behind by Google so they will be launching a video service. They will retrieve videos from all around the web and they also accept user submissions. Right now the site isn’t too fantastic because most people will just see the Yahoo Video Search, but the screenshot above is what the service will look like for everyone after a little while.

This should give some video services like Google Video and YouTube a hurting but I don’t think it will be enough to cripple them.

So it searches videos from all over the web? That’s as opposed to just allowing submitted videos like Google does? So basically it’s going to end up as a porn search tool, considering half the videos on the internet are on that subject…

Meh, Google got there first and YouTube is crazily popular with the MySpace generation. Who cares.

It is supposed to grab videos from the web (probably from specific sites like CNN) and it will also accept user submissions.

I think that they are stepping into the ring a little late and they probably won’t be able to get their desired number of users.
