Slashdot Announces CSS Redesign Winner

The popular Slashdot CSS redesign contest has come to an end and we have a winner (screenshot above). Alex Bendiken has been awarded the grand prize which was a laptop along with the opportunity to brag that he redesigned Slashdot. The 2nd place Peter Lada walked away with a $250 gift card to ThinkGeek.

I believe that Alex really deserved to win. From the bunch of redesigns that I saw (my first, second, and third posting) his was the best. He kept the integral parts that makeup Slashdot but he also implemented a slick interface. Also, let’s not forget the remarkable collapsing menus that he implemented into the sidebar.

    Thanks for the kudos Ryan!

A small tidbit about the collapsible menus: I don’t think many people have noticed the fact they also remember the state you leave them in, so if you collapse a menu, it’ll stay collapsed.

Thanks for the info Alex! I didn’t even think to check whether it remember the state or not. I am glad to see that you won the contest.
