It looks like Microsoft is recognizing how interrogating the User Account Control (UAC) in Vista can be. They said There are a LOT of UAC elevation prompts in Feb CTP and still more than we would like in Beta 2.

Installing Linux has never been so easy for Windows users. Instlux allows Windows users to install either OpenSuse or Ubuntu. It will grab user information from the Windows installation and user it in the Linux distribution so that the conversion to Linux isn't so cumbersome.
Microsoft is going to be feeling the wrath of Adobe because of the "Save As PDF" feature found in Office 2007 Beta (screenshot to the right). Adobe said that Microsoft can either remove the feature completely or they can charge people extra for the added feature. Aren't we already going to be paying enough to get that feature? Isn't the cost of Office 2007 going to be $600+?
This is a pretty sweet device that this guy came up with. This has to be one of the coolest light switches out there because you never have to touch it in order to turn something on or off.
Firefox 1.5.0.4 was just released yesterday and I posted the Portable Firefox 1.5.0.4 build almost immediately after release. I have had several people email me asking if I was going to release a portable version so I figured I should make a separate posting just for the Portable Firefox so that everyone can find it easily.

I was just informed that the Digg site is unavailable. I didn't realize it but I do think that it has only been down for a short time. I have some articles in my feed reader that is from their site and they are pretty recent relative to the rest of my articles in my feed reader. Hopefully they didn't get their servers raided by a bunch of police like the PirateBay.org did!

It looks like Microsoft is planning for IE7 Beta 3 to be released in the middle of August. This release is currently what the IE developers are working on and it will include several bug fixes. The article by HotFix made one interesting point that really caught my attention: One fix going in Beta 3 will be will be to revert back to an IE6 behavior when using PHP pages.

It looks like the Google Calendar is finally getting some new features since its release nearly two-months ago.
