New Google Homepage Being Tested

It looks like Google is testing a new homepage that will provide a collapsible “More” link. By selecting the link it will allow the user to select different types of searches.

While this does seem slick I don’t think that it will benefit the users in any way. These options are normally located above the search box without the need to click on a menu to get them. Hopefully this does not make it out of the testing phase.

Google need to stop worrying about their non-personalised homepage design. The reason so many companies have copied that now is because it’s so good, meaning they should stick with it instead of trying to be more unique. Concentrate on better features for other services, such as click pin-pointing in Google Maps, or UK language versions of products being as up to date as US versions.

 :|  8O :) :? 8) :D   :P  ;) :o  :x :( :!: :?:
