If you are looking for some exciting new software then BumpTop is what you need. The movie above is a great example of how it works and there are higher quality videos available (MOV or WMV) for those people with really high-speed connections.
When I saw the demonstration video I was endlessly amazed. It looked like it was so much fun that it should be a video game. The only downside is that the software is not available to be downloaded…yet! Hopefully they will let everyone have some 3D fun on their desktop soon.

Heheh, I guess you managed to point out one problem with the whole thing in that statement - it’d be fun to play with. From the way the guy was talking this doesn’t seem to have been designed to be a fun thing to play with - rather an actual method of organising your stuff. To be honest whilst it is more real world, isn’t the fact that we prefer our computers because they don’t have all the physical constraints seen represented here? It’s cool but not something to be used seriously.
By watching the video I believe that it does appear to be more of a fun thing than a useful thing, but I don’t want to judge its usefulness until I am able to use it hands on. That would be like me reviewing a car before even test driving it
