I just received an email from ReplayTV announcing a new Website that they have launched. It is geared toward the ReplayTV PC Edition DVR which is scheduled to be released in September 2006. You can sign-up now to get notified when they launch the service so that you can test it out for 30 days.
The service will cost $99.95 for the first year and $19.95 for each year after that. ReplayTV (set-top box edition) previously costed $12.95/month which is approximately $155/year! The savings is huge but don’t forget that you have to supply your own computer.
The requirements aren’t too terrible but the main ones to note are:
- Video Graphics Card with AGP8X and 128B video RAM or better
- Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150 (model 1045) or Hauppauge WinTV-PVR USB2 (model 941)
While I like the idea of the ReplayTV PC Edition I really like the set-top box that I have. However, the PC service is much more affordable and has a large list of new features.
