CodeWeavers has announced that they will be releasing CrossOver Mac sometime in late July or early August. There is a good chance that if you run Windows then you may not have heard of CodeWeavers before. Until now they have only created a Linux application called CrossOver Office. This program is designed to allow Linux users to run popular Windows software without the need to install Windows. Many businesses and Universities use CrossOver Office to run Microsoft Office 2003 on their Linux computers.
Now Mac users are going to benefit from this great piece of software that will cost just $59.95! It is a fraction of what Windows costs but CrossOver Mac will only be able to run on Intel Mac OS X machines. As far as game support goes they do have some intentions of making CrossOver Mac compatible with some popular games but there are no promises.
