People testing Windows Vista Beta 2 may find themselves looking for resolution to some issues. As Microsoft continues to release patches/updates for Vista Beta 2 they have been posting them on one central page but the problem is that no one seems to know about it. Here are a list of updates that Microsoft has on the page:
- Programs may crash or become unresponsive
- The Sidebar application may crash when you install a compressed gadget
- Running Internet Protocol security (IPsec) or Windows Firewall on a multiprocessor or hyper-threaded computer may cause your computer to crash
- Windows Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP) data may not be sent to Microsoft
- Update for the Junk E-mail and Phishing Filter features in Windows Mail is available
- Manual activation fails after the 14-day grace period and generates the following error code: “0×800705B4″
- You lose Internet connectivity after you install Windows Vista Beta 2 on a computer that is behind a home router or gatewayYou lose Internet connectivity after you install Windows Vista Beta 2 on a computer that is behind a home router or gateway
- Optional components may not install when you apply Windows updates
- The Program Compatibility Assistant dialog box appears when you try to install or run AVG Antivirus System Professional version 7.1.394 or AVG Antivirus System Free Edition version 7.1.394The Program Compatibility Assistant dialog box appears when you try to install or run AVG Antivirus System Professional version 7.1.394 or AVG Antivirus System Free Edition version 7.1.394
I have mentioned some of these updates in the past but this is the best place to look for any issues you may be having. If you happen to be one of the lucky Microsoft Connect users then you are able to download the most recently released Vista 5472 which is much more stable than Vista Beta 2.

As soon as my computer is idle for a while, it logs out, and when I log in again, I fist get this message:

A solution is available that will solve this problem.

To use this device, visit Windows Update to install the latest drivers.
I try to update through Windows update, but it says I have all updates already, but when I check it it says this update fails, and when I check the error, I get the code 800705B4, the one mentioned above. What can I do, I’ve tried installing the driver 4 times with the same result every time - it fails.
That same thing has happened with me before. I would just ignore the update. You can hide it by right-clicking on that particular update in the Windows Update manager.
The thing is, if I ignore it, my computer will continue to reboot when idle, and I find that terribly annoying lol.
In response to Petra Lassen, you should check your settings for resuming from screen saver or some sort. you should check into that, but i’m no technician.
