OpenOffice.org Premium 2.0.3 Released

OpenOffice.org is a great Microsoft Office alternative but people say that it lacks some things that would really make it great. Maybe a bunch of templates or some clip art would help sway your mind into the world of open source software?

Flickr Steps Up The Competition With Geotagging

It looks like Flickr is now entering Zooomr's area of expertise: Geotagging. Now I'm not big on uploading my photos to the Web yet because I want the ability to order my pictures in a folder-like structure. However, I have used the services from both Flickr and Zooomr but it is tough to say which one is better.

So what would you do if you owned a Mac Cube? Someone figured out what they wanted to do and there was no holding them back. They took an ordinary Mac Cube and dressed it up to look like a MacPro. Looking at the pictures really shows that this is not a job of some amateur either.

Windows XP SP1 Support Ends October 10, 2006

I just stumbled across a Microsoft page that says support for Windows XP SP1 will end on October 10, 2006. I'm not sure why anyone would still be stuck back in the day of Windows XP SP1 unless they weren't a big fan of Microsoft's new security features. I happen to like the new features myself and it helps me feel just a little more secure.

The other day we got word that Microsoft placed the pricing for Vista and Office 2007 on their Canadian site.Well, Longhorn Blogs pointed out that Amazon.com also has pricing available for Vista and for Office 2007. This time they are in U.S.

Kiko Calls It Quits: Sells On eBay for $258,100.00

If you haven't heard about the Kiko calendar calling it quits, here's a quick summary: Kiko was/is a pretty cool online calendar. A few days ago on their blog they offered their final post, a farewell saying they were calling it quits because they couldn't keep up the product. They decided to put the site up for sale on eBay. Good ole' eBay to the rescue, again.

Keyboard shortcuts are a real time saver but they definitely take some getting used to. It is almost out of instinct that I reach for the mouse to perform a lot of my tasks but they can often be done much quicker if you learn how to use the keyboard as your primary input device.
