I'm sure Microsoft just hasn't updated the site. They probably also don't want to worry about supporting it anymore so they just ignore the fact that it works. That way if someone emails them to complain about something not working right they can say "that software doesn't support IE6..."

I honestly never knew that. I took a look at the Web Accessories that you mentioned and I only saw a version for Internet Explorer 5. Am I missing something or does that version work with IE6 as well?

Microsoft should have these kind of features already integrated with the browser because most people that use IE are not going to go out and look for stuff like this to download.

Nice find though!

I really hope you know that Internet Explorer has this function since 1999 Windows 98.

I have been using so-you-called keyword searches in address bar since 1999. I did g for google, dict for dictionary.com local for citysearch.com and about 10 others including pricegrabber.com

I really do blame Microsoft not making its product's feature more visible.

To do this in IE, there are two ways: download the 200kb Microsoft Internet Explorer Web Accessories OR download TweakUI.Then read the instruction, it's dead simple.

Something that Web Accessories has to offer is equivalent to 5 separate extensions in Firefox.

Best Wishes,

Nik

Wow! I never knew about "Add a Keyword for this search"! It's working very nice and it save my time. Thanks for the tip. I use keywords for many links from Bookmarks ("tc" for your site for example), but I never knew that I can use keywords for searches.

About "Find as you type". There is a solution to have this in Internet Explorer. And in Outlook Express. And in Microsoft Word. OK: in many applications! Just look for www.handykeys.com. If you like "Find as you type" from FF, you may want to extend this to other application also. Use HandyFind! It's a freeare.
