The Zune Gets A Pricecut Before It’s Even Released

Two days ago Wal-Mart had accidentally posted the price of the Zune as $284 but Microsoft is already giving it a pricecut thanks to an inside tip Gizmodo received. The new price, $229, was decided upon to make sure they undercut the iPod by $20 (the 30GB iPod is currently selling for $249).

Google Base Gets A Redesign And Loses A Search Box

Google Base has revamped their homepage and it doesn't seem that different to me. In fact, one thing that they did do was remove the search box which really puzzles me. Now I have to click on a category in order to pull up a page that allows me to perform a search.

"Open Command Window Here" Built Into Vista

How cool is this? You can now open a Command Prompt for any directory in Vista without having to download a Powertoy (like the one available for Windows XP). However, they do keep it hidden to protect users from, well, themselves. All you have to do though is hold down the Shift key and right-click on a folder (if you just right-click without the Shift key you will not see the option):

OpenOffice.org has always been lacking a good set of templates and clipart which is why OpenOffice.org "Premium" is starting to become popular. To help develop what the "Premium" version has OpenOffice.org is starting a contest to encourage people to create their own clipart and templates:
