Thanks for the portable version Ryan.

I am using it on my SanDisk Cruzer 2GB flash drive at work. So far, no problems at all. I will move to this version (non portable) soon for my desktop at home.

OK, the distribution file is 5 KB larger, but it's contents is absolutely (1 to 1) the same as 2.0-preRC1 released 2006-09-19.

So, it is different because of worse compression? :)

The answer to my question about "major updates" feature is: NO, this release doesn't contain that feature.
That means, this distribution will NOT become the final version. RC2 will be released.

The Firefox.exe file is the same as one from 2.0 RC1 candidate (released 2006-09-19), but the whole distribution is 5 KB larger. So, this is NOT absolutely the same distribution.

It is not clear to me, does THIS version has the "<a href="http://developer.mozilla.org/devnews/index.php/2006/09/21/todays-bon-echo-nightly-build-update-is-majorly-cool/" rel="nofollow">major updates</a>" feature, or not?

If it is the same as 20060918 (preRC1), then NO, but if it is 20060921, then YES.

I am going to try the portable version and see how that goes. If all goes well, then I will go ahead and switch from 1.5x.

I am now running Vista and am loving it. I also am running the beta version of Office and am liking it as well. However, I have not spent much time with it yet.
I am liking the new interface, although I am slower as I am having to find some stuff due to the changes.

It is the same version that I wrote about a week ago which means they did not find anything that needed to be changed. If you are still running that version then there is no need to upgrade.
