Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.8 Released

Mozilla just released Firefox 1.5.0.8 but it apparently does not have the built-in upgrader for users switching to Firefox 2 (I tried to do an update after the upgrade and it said no updates were available). I was expecting Mozilla to place that feature in this release so that people would be prompted to complete the upgrade to the new Firefox but they apparently decided not to do it.

Tabbed Google Searches Using TWERQ

Google is no doubt my favorite search engine because the results that it provides are always relevant to what I am looking for. For that reason all kinds of different sites use searches powered by Google and TWERQ is another one on that tally. It does, however, have a few unique features.

Ping Pong Flash Game Overly Addicting

I was looking for a fun game to play on the Internet today when I stumbled upon this Flash-based ping pong game. It sounds like such a simple concept but I was surprised at how difficult it was for me to even score a single point. I have started to gain some skill but I am yet to win a game. Once I do win I may actually be able to stop playing. ;)

Vista RTM Wallpaper Gallery

NeoSmart just posted a wallpaper gallery that contains all of the Vista RTM backgrounds. There are both widescreen versions available and the normal "square" resolution that many people have. The widescreen ones are available up to a resolution of 1920 x 1200 which is what my 24" monitor uses, so they will look good on most computers.

It was only a matter of time before some Web portal released a food section and it looks like Yahoo decided to step forward. The cleverly named Yahoo Food will walk you through doing about anything from cooking a great meal all the way to finding a great restaurant that will cook the great meal for you.

Office 2007 Trial Soon And File Converters Released

Update: There have been several sites reporting the Office 2007 trial to be a phishing site, so you may want to change your password if you entered it into the login. The URL pointed to Commerce5.com which I thought I have seen before. I'm pretty sure it is just a mockup of the site that is being created for Microsoft.

Microsoft’s Virtual Earth 3D A Little Disappointing

I decided to try out the Virtual Earth 3D that Microsoft just started to offer and I can't say that my experience blew me away. I went to the local.live.com like I was told to do and clicked on the 3D button. Oops, silly me, there isn't Firefox support so I had to open it in Internet Explorer.

CyberNotes: Templates Give You A Good Starting Point

When I try and create a website or a document the main thing that I am always conscious of is the appearance. I want it to look professional and slick, but I don't want to spend ages working on it if I don't have to. So when I am looking to design something the first thing that I turn to are templates!
