About a week ago Paul Thurrott put together a great feature comparison guide for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the Wii. He highlights many of the features that tech enthusiasts love to know about, like the processors and included RAM.
The comparisons don’t always have to be serious though, do they? Nah, and the one that The Onion posted is sure to give you a laugh. Here is a listing of a few comparisons they make between the PS3 and the Wii:
- Cost
- PS3: F$#%ing ridiculous
- Wii: Reasonably ridiculous
- Ability to tear apart families
- PS3: Second-to-none
- Wii: Pretty strong, though mostly because everyone wishes it were a PlayStation instead
- The way your peers will view you
- PS3: “Dude! Can I come over and play that shit?”
- Wii: “I’ll come over, but don’t tell anybody, okay?”
- Love of owner
- PS3: This much
- Wii: Thiiis much
There are a few other comparisons that they make but I just couldn’t help but laugh when I was reading them. Hope you like it as much as I did.

I was only reading this 30 minutes ago, any way still a laugh
Who would want the PS3 over the Wii? The Wii is the first console I actually like!
people who are more serious about gaming. the wii is for casual gamers and families.
this is a marathon, not a sprint. ps3 will do fine and the wii will end up 3rd like the gamecube.
Uh, if you want hardcore gaming you go with a PC. ESPECIALLY if you’re in it for the long run. In a year PS3 games will look like crap, while wii gameplay will still be just as fun.
With PC you can upgrade anytime you want, putting you at the top always. Plus, you can customize your system to suite you and use whatever controller for a given game you want. Serious gamers use PCs.
I said Wii is the first console I like, because until the Wii, I saw no reason to get a console. They were just crappier versions of my PC. Wii actually makes the console system make sense.
Serious gamers with MONEY play PC. I haven’t upgraded my box in over a year and I’m totally behind the curve. Paying $600 for 5 years of PS3 gaming would seem like a really nice alternative to paying $500 a year to upgrade my PC. Of course the real reason to play games on PC is because they’re just better games, and really there is no alternative.
Yeah I know this is first console I got at launch. And after a week and half I don’t how I ever played games without the Wiimote and the nunchuck attachment.

I’ve heard great things about the controllers…wish I could try them out.
Actually, if you’re a hardcore gamer you get all four: PC, PS3, Wii, and XBox 360. Remember, each has exclusives.
People who had a PS2, people who are graphics freaks, people who want a (relatively) cheap Blu-Ray player, people who like the PS exclusives, etc.
Also, while in the future we will have advanced graphics technology, I doubt that people will say the PS3’s or X360’s graphics “look like crap”. After all, they are very realistic.
You can. Drop $250.
I have thought about it but I am not really big into playing games…but the controllers make it look like so much fun.
For $250 I could add nice chunk of RAM or a bigger hard drvie to my machine…not that I have $250 that I could drop right now…
That doesn’t matter. Nintendo says the Wii is the console for non-gamers :|(that doesn’t mean it’s not for gamers, also ;)). They’re going for the universal audience, everyone is a gamer, family sittin’ ’round the couch playing games together thing.
