YouTube Gets A Small, But Nice, Facelift

It looks as though YouTube has gotten a small Web 2.0 makeover. As you can see in the before/after comparison above there are fewer tabs and they now have a glossy appearance to them (a.k.a. Web 2.0 style). Not only that but they brought the "Upload" link out of a tab and set it off to the side which makes it more prominent and easier for users to recognize.

First Ubuntu 7.04 Milestone (Feisty Fawn Herd 1)

It is hard to believe that Ubuntu is already releasing another milestone but that is pretty much how Linux works...every few weeks there is something new. This version, named Feisty Fawn Herd 1, is just a pre-release to test out some of the new things that will be integrated in Ubuntu 7.04 when it is available in April of 2007.

For awhile I stopped using the Tab Mix Plus Firefox extension because I didn't like the session restore feature that it had and there was a significant memory leak.

Hotmail Celebrating Its 10 Year Birthday

According to a press release that I just received via email Hotmail is celebrating its 10th birthday after being founded back in 1996. I'm a Gmail user myself but before the days of Google's email system I was a diehard Hotmail fan. In fact, I remember using Hotmail before Microsoft had even acquired it which was around a year after they launched.

OpenSuse 10.2 Goes Gold

My favorite Linux distribution, OpenSuse, has released another great version. OpenSuse 10.2 has been in the works since back in June and 6-months later we receive this fine release. Here is what the announcement says is new for 10.2:

Emails are no doubt the primary means of communication for many people. It lets people interact with each other at their own pace which particularly comes in handy when the correspondent is located halfway around the world in the opposite timezone. However, with all of the emails that I see, one thing that I don't see often is a nice signature.
