I actually can't believe this but file sharing just got a lot better. The new website that I found (thanks to Gizmodo) is called DivShare and it allows you to upload your files without limitations and without registration. There are already several sites that do something similar, like FileHo, so why is DivShare special?
If you're looking for nice, simple, but useful photo and image programs, you'll love the freeware that VicMan Software has to offer. As of December 22, 2006, all of the graphics software that they offer is free. They've got some great products that you can use to easily enhance your photos.
Gmail is at it yet again and this time they are performing magic tricks that many of us have never seen first-hand...they are making your email messages disappear before your very eyes! Hey, I never said it was a positive magic trick, now did I?
I'm not sure if this is really the world's largest Firefox logo but I would have to say that it is pretty close! It weighs in at 9.66MB and stretches 20502 x 19839 pixels. I mirrored the image on FileHo because I didn't want to link to the private server that Jake sent me in the tip.
You're definitely going to want an invite for this one, just to try it out! Hey! Watch is a new online video converter that's currently an invitation only beta. They've been working on this for a year, and now they're just about ready for their full launch.
We're approaching the end of 2006, and it seems like everybody is putting together their _______ of 2006 list. Amazon.com has put together their "Best of 2006" list (hmm.. I wonder what would be on the "worst of 2006" list ;)) so... here are some of the technology highlights!
It's been about 3-weeks since word about the Gmail Mail Fetcher emerged, and finally my account has the feature for me to use! In fact, several of my Gmail accounts have the feature. Ashley's account still doesn't have it, so don't be surprised if the feature isn't in your Settings quite yet.
Wikipedia, part of the Wikimedia Foundation is raising funds. They don't have any advertisements or sponsors, so they need to make their operating costs somehow! They have a site all set up with options to donate using PayPal/Credit Card, Moneybookers, Check, or Direct Deposit.

I can't believe what a stir Microsoft's recent giveaways have caused in the blogosphere! The big talk is about Microsoft handing out Acer Ferrari laptops (completely loaded) to bloggers in what many people are calling a bribery. These laptops come fully loaded with Vista Ultimate Edition and Office 2007 Professional, so what is so horribly wrong about that?

The RIAA says AllofMP3.com is operating illegally and slapped a 1.64 TRILLION dollar lawsuit on them. AllofMP3.com says that they are operating legally in Russia, complying with all Russian laws. So, where does it go from here? Filed on December 21st, the RIAA is claiming that 11 million songs were pirated. At a mere $150,000 per violation, that's one heck of a lawsuit with... count them....
Every time you try to use a file in a program it always seems like it needs some obscure file format that you have never even heard about. Or maybe you are trying to post a video to your website but you want a file format that works well in all browsers.

PDFforge.org is an open source project dedicated to forging PDFs. Because it is open source, you're able to look at the source to ensure that there's no spyware in it. You can also add to the software, or take away features that aren't needed. One of their projects, PDFCreator is a great, free way to create PDFs from almost any Windows app. Here are some of the key features:
A recent Digg article promoted Google Notebook's search page where you can search public notebooks for content. Sounds harmless, right? I think it is for the most part because users are given the choice to opt-in for making their notebooks publicly viewable, but by default this is disabled which means most notebooks will remain private.

PayPal is entering the virtual world with their Virtual Debit Card, aimed at preventing fraud and keeping your account safe.
Every once in a while I think about what it might be like to make the change from a Windows operating system to a Mac. If you've ever thought about it, or you're just wanting a change, you can very simply make XP look like OS X. Giving you a complete Mac makeover, FlyakiteOSX is one heck of a transformation pack for XP. Even their website is impressive, giving you the look and feel of a Mac.
Google Operating System scrounged up a great script that helps make Google Documents & Spreadsheets, Calendar, and Picasa Web Albums work a little better with Google services in Opera. Those services have very minor glitches that most Opera users don't care about and will still use the services.
We are pretty excited to be giving away two software licenses for MojoPac! It's a pretty useful piece of software, and the two winners will surely be able to find some kind of use for it! Thanks to all of those who gave us your explanations on why it would be useful! This give-away wasn't about who had the best reason, it was simply random.

No, they haven't merged..... yet. But, an AOL-Yahoo merge is rumored, looks rather attractive, and one source says that 2007 is the year for this. Another source agrees, but offers an additional possibility of AOL and Yahoo to be acquired by another company such as Microsoft. With Time Warner considering the option of selling AOL, who knows what will happen with the future of AOL.

As websites continue to become more and more AJAXified I believe that bookmarklets are going to become a larger driving force. Some of you may not be familiar with bookmarklets, so I was trying to think of a good way I could explain them. When I stumbled upon the Wikipedia article I thought it couldn't be said any better:
