Microsoft to Support XP 2 Years Longer Than Vista

Back in January, Microsoft updated their support schedule for Windows XP which now gives users extended support until April 2014. As it stands, this makes support available to XP users for two years after Windows Vista Ultimate, Home Premium, and Home Basic users which hardly makes sense!

NewsGator Online RSS Reader Gets A Little Better

NewsGator just launched a new beta version of their online feed reader that is sporting some nifty AJAX and JavaScript goodness. Personally I prefer to use desktop feed reader applications because they offer more configurability and settings, but NewsGator now has a slim layout that is sure to please a lot of people.

Lots of Criticism going on with Vista and Office 2007

In the past week I have received more than 10 emails directing me to articles that all had bad things to say about Windows Vista, and while I think that Vista is far from perfect it surely doesn’t deserve negative attention. Before I go ahead and get started going through some of the things that I have found I want to first say that I am far from a Microsoft fanboy.

Slick Firefox Theme Even Impresses Me

I have always been a huge fan of using the default Firefox theme because I think it is nice and simple. On several occasions I have actually gone out and scrounged around looking for a nice Firefox theme, but each time I have come up empty handed.

Vending machines can accept payments from cell phones, so why not McDonald's? Back in September, Coca-Cola announced that it was going to equip all of their vending machines in Japan with the technology that would allow the machines to accept payment via mobile phones. They hope to have this done by the end of 2008.

Get Social with Word Source Dictionary

There’s social networking, social web browsing, and now a social dictionary. Before actually visiting Word Source, I couldn’t imagine how you could possibly make a dictionary social, but they did and I actually like it. I said good-bye to my paper dictionary a while ago.

Firefox Tab Groups – Like Folders for your Tabs

This morning when I woke up I noticed that I had more than 20 tabs open in Firefox that I still needed to sort through and read. Most of them were articles that I found the previous day, but never got around to reading. Despite having a 24” monitor I still find that having 20 tabs open takes up a lot of room, and what I really needed was a folder-like structure for my tabs.
