Mozilla Firefox 3 Alpha 2 Released!

Mozilla has just released the English version of Firefox 3 Alpha 2 (codename Gran Paradiso) and it is the first release of Firefox that passes the Acid 2 test. Well, it is still a pre-release version but it is on its way to be the final version that will be released later this year.

RIAA Forks Out 50,000 in Legal Fees / Thinks CD Prices Should be Higher!

The RIAA is in the news again, but this time instead of a victim paying out money to the recording labels, the RIAA was forced to pay out 50,000 in legal fees.

Google’s Firefox Toolbar 3 Out of Beta

Google has finally brought the Google Toolbar 3 out of Beta for all Firefox users. Yes, you heard me right...Google took a product out of Beta! I guess they do periodically remove services from the Beta stage, but it a rare occasion. I feel like I should bust out the champagne to celebrate.

Windows Live OneCare Anti-Virus Package Fails VB100 Test

Bad news for those of you using Windows Live OneCare Anti-Virus Package.  According to Beta News, Microsoft has acknowledged and confirmed that Live OneCare has failed the VB100 test that was conducted by Virus Bulletin.

Gmail Open to Everybody? Nah… Just Teasing Again!

I think Google enjoys teasing everybody with Gmail. There's always rumors and hints that give the impression that they're about to open up Gmail to everybody.  Take for example the 2800 Digg users in December who Dugg an article saying that Google had opened the registration to everybody.

TiVo and Amazon Jump in on Video Downloads Too!

Remember the partnership that was announced between TiVo and Netflix which fell through? Now TiVo has entered into another partnership, this time with Amazon to bring movies to TiVo users. This announcement was made yesterday, several hours after Wal-Mart released their version of Video Downloads.

Now that Windows Vista has been released it is time for software developers to start making their applications look a little cleaner with the Aero Glass interface. Right now most applications look alright, but many of them don’t take advantages of Vista’s new graphical capabilities...specifically browsers.
