Skype Announces 3.1 Beta for Windows

Today Skype announced their latest version of Skype for Windows. It’s a beta version, and according to the announcement, you should expect a few bugs here and there.  The download can be found here.Probably the biggest addition to this beta is their new feature called SkypeFind, a listing of business and recommendations.

Netvibes Bringing Widgets to Vista, Google, and Mac

Netvibes has been putting a lot of work into making their site even more appealing for users, and this new addition could give them a lot of attention. In the next few weeks they will be unleashing a Universal Widget API that will let you use Netvibe’s widgets almost anywhere, including in Windows Vista, Mac’s, Google, and Opera.

More Microsoft Branding Confusion

The line of Windows Live services that Microsoft has developed appeared to be catching on.  Just as everybody was getting comfortable with the entire Live line like Windows Live Mail over Hotmail, or Windows Live Shopping over MSN Shopping, Microsoft decides they’re reverting back to old names. A week, ago, Microsoft announced that their mail service will officially be named Windows Live Hotmail which took many people by surprise.

Google Images: Out with the New, In with the Old

One month ago Google released an update to the Images search that didn’t seem to be anything too major to me. All they did was hide the details for images until you hovered over them with your mouse. The resulting search screen therefore looked cleaner but users had to take an extra step if they wanted to see the details of an image, such as the resolution or filesize.
