The line of Windows Live services that Microsoft has developed appeared to be catching on.  Just as everybody was getting comfortable with the entire Live line like Windows Live Mail over Hotmail, or Windows Live Shopping over MSN Shopping, Microsoft decides they’re reverting back to old names. A week, ago, Microsoft announced that their mail service will officially be named Windows Live Hotmail which took many people by surprise.

Google Images: Out with the New, In with the Old

One month ago Google released an update to the Images search that didn’t seem to be anything too major to me. All they did was hide the details for images until you hovered over them with your mouse. The resulting search screen therefore looked cleaner but users had to take an extra step if they wanted to see the details of an image, such as the resolution or filesize.

When Viacom pulled out the carpet underneath YouTube, I’m sure YouTube wasn’t expecting it was because there was someone else coming into the picture. Viacom left, and headed on over to Joost which is just getting their start.

Snap Previews Much More Tolerable Now!

I said my good-riddance to Snap Previews  when I realized that there was a way to disable them. That was just a few weeks ago, and shortly after, Snap added a few enhancements that make them much more tolerable. Thankfully, they listened to the feedback that they were getting, and with that were able to come up with options for when to trigger the Snap Preview.

Microsoft Releases Virtual PC 2007 (Freeware)

I’ve been waiting for Microsoft to release Virtual PC 2007 and it looks like they finally have. I still remember the day that Microsoft started making Virtual PC a free application, and they are super smart for doing so. It allows users to install other Windows operating systems to test out new software, or more importantly check for software compatibility issues on the new Windows Vista.
