Yahoo is responding to Google’s co-op, a platform that allows you to customize your search experience by introducing Yahoo! Alpha – in beta. Much like Google’s version, Yahoo Alpha will enable you to create your very own personalized search engine homepage.

Who Doesn’t Want to Work for Google?

Fortune has once again put together the top 100 companies to work for in the United States. Not surprisingly at the top of the list is Google! With over a 67% growth rate and 6,500 employees Google is almost in another league compared to the other employers in the list. Google Introduces Google Desktop for Mac

Just today, Google has released Google Desktop for Mac in beta. It will index applications, PDF’s, files supported by Spotlight’s plug-ins, and the history to your web browser which then makes it possible to search.

New Version of Live Maps Released – Includes Firefox Support for 3D Mapping

The Windows Live Maps/Virtual Earth team has spent some serious time over the last few weeks implementing new features and changes. One of their latest changes is the addition of Birds Eye Coverage around the world using their Virtual Earth service.

Firefox to Implement Social Networking Features?

Mozilla is working on a new addition for Firefox called Coop, and the goal of the project is to add some social networking features to the browser. I was actually really shocked when I heard about this because Flock, a browser based on Firefox, has already gotten a huge headstart at implementing social features that connect users with their favorite services such as Del.icio.us and Flickr.

I subscribe to feeds all the time, but many of the browsers are different in the way they handle feeds. Firefox has a pretty nice interface for choosing an external application as the default subscription handler while Internet Explorer (IE) and Opera are both a little more tricky.
