Apple Patches 25 Mac OS X Security Flaws

Apple just got done issuing an update for Mac OS X yesterday that fixed 25 security flaws in the operating system. Many of the bugs being fixed were all found during the “Month of Apple Bugs” from back in January. Luckily there is no record that any hackers attempted to exploit the bugs that were found.

Digg’s API is up for Grabs – Contest Begins

Digg users are celebrating! Finally, the head honchos over at Digg have decided that it’s time to offer up the API that developers have been requesting for a while. Along with it comes a Flash application toolkit, and access to Digg data going all the way back to 2004.

Intel’s Core 2 Duo Pushing AMD into the Red?

It was no surprise that AMD posted a loss for the first quarter. However, their loss was quite a bit more than expected– $611 million. There are plenty of factors that contribute to this loss, but I think Intel’s Core 2 Duo processor definitely could have contributed to it.

Google Search History now Web History – Beefed Up Bookmarking

Google has quietly made a big change to their search history feature.  It’s now been renamed to “Web History,” a revamped personalized search.  The biggest difference is that it keeps a history of every site you’ve gone to, not just the Google Searches you’ve done.

Amazon (Alexa) vs. Statsaholic

You’ve probably heard of Statsaholic by now.  It was formerly named Alexaholic, and the service allowed you to enter up to five different domains and compare their Alexa traffic statistics. They called it traffic comparisons on steroids, and it did everything that Alexa probably should have done from the start. It was a better product.

Google’s 1Q Profits Soar, Acquire Marratech

Last week it was DoubleClick, this week it’s Marratech.  Google has just announced their acquisition of Marratech , developers of web and video conferencing software.  Their main competitors would be WebEx (recently acquired by Cisco), Microsoft Live Meeting, and Adobe Connect.
