The site is BuyMyBrokeniPod.com, and all you have to do is enter in all of the information regarding the iPod, whether it’s a Nano, Video, 3rd generation, etc. Then enter in the condition, and whether or not you have the USB cable, charger, or box. From there you’ll get your quote on how much they’ll pay you for your iPod. You ship it to them via 1st class USPS mail, and upon delivery you’ll get your payment.
So for example, I’ve got a 4th generation 20GB iPod in 100% working order, it’s in OK condition, and it includes the USB cord and the charger. I’d get $48 bucks back, and if it wasn’t working at all and I didn’t know why, I’d still get $18 back! If you have some idea what’s wrong with it, the value will probably go up. For example, if it had a cracked screen the value would go up to $21. Not bad if your iPod is sitting there broken, or collecting dust.
If you’re planning on purchasing another iPod, another alternative is the Apple Recycling Program that they offer at US Retail stores. Whether it’s working or not, you can drop off your iPod and receive a 10 percent discount towards the purchase of a new iPod. Not a bad deal.

It’s good for broken iPods, but I tried inputting the info for a brand new factory sealed 100% working video iPod and they offered me $146. Considering that a new one costs $300 or $400, that’s a pretty poor deal. But it isn’t too shabby if the iPod is old and non-functioning.
Yeah, exactly. If you had a brand new factory sealed iPod, you’re better off selling it on eBay. Although, I don’t know how many people will have a brand new iPod that they don’t want.
I think this is great for all those people who don’t want to risk getting scammed on eBay. I’m surprised a company like this hasn’t popped up for laptops or computers.
Funny you mention this…there sort is with Circuit City. The company is called EzTradeIn.com and will give you a Circuit City gift card as credit for turning in old electronics (must be working to get credit).

Awesome service, but I just priced a laptop that I have and I can get at least twice as much on eBay. I guess it really just depends on the electronics that you’re trying to sell, but it is nice to see these easy-to-use services popping up to prevent things from filling the landfill.
I suppose you could get more on eBay but if you are just looking to be rid of the stuff quickly and I would think less hassle this would be a better route.
