There is a new worm in town, and it is targeting OpenOffice on Windows, Mac OS, and Linux! The SB/Badbunny-A worm infects a computer when a user opens an OpenOffice Draw file called badbunny.odg. Depending on your operating system, the worm will do a variety of things:

Google has been known to pay people to test out some of their beta software.  The latest offer is to test out Blogger, and they’ll pay you up to $100. The money is to compensate you for the time that you spend either participating in a survey, talking on the phone with a researcher, or in person.

Google Trends has just added a new feature which keeps you up to date with the hottest search queries. In case you haven’t heard of Google Trends before, it’s a comparison tool. You can enter in different topics and see what the trend is, or how often it’s been searched for on Google.

I feel pretty bad for those people running the Chinese version of Windows XP SP2 along with Norton Antivirus. It appears that last Friday around 1:00AM Beijing time Symantec updated Norton’s antivirus definitions which flagged two system files, netapi32.dll and lsasrv.dll, as “Backdoor.Haxdoor” trojans.

There’s more bad news for AllofMP3.com today after an announcement was made that a man out of London who was selling vouchers that users could purchase to buy music from AllofMP3.com was arrested.  Thus far, the largest legal action that the RIAA has pursued was the filing of a 1.64 trillion dollar lawsuit (here and here).

Microsoft has filed a new trademark for a service that sounds remarkably similar to Joost. The logo being trademarked is pictured to the right, and is supposed to represent “” While the symbol doesn’t seem all that intriguing, the services behind it certainly grab your attention:

It’s been a little while since we have come across freeware software that made us all giggly inside, but Nubs (Download Mirror for version 1.1) is just that. It essentially puts tabs (which the program calls Nubs) around the border of your screen so that you can quickly access all of your applications.

If someone were to ask me to describe Cozi, I’d describe it as the perfect site for the wired family to keep organized. It’s the replacement for the standard desk calendar to keep track of dates, and the whiteboard and markers to leave messages.
