I would love to see companies embrace Meebo and utilize their services. I'm sure Meebo would be willing to work with companies like Yahoo and Google to come up with some universal alternative that fits in well with both sites. Hey, I can dream. :)

I’m guessing it is because they don’t want to promote the other services, but that is pretty stupid.</blockquote>

I love Y!MB's integrated mail messenger. What they should do is try and make that universal. Maybe they could somehow use meebo in the background, then use Y!MB chat for the UI? Also, I heard they're working on giving Y!MB messenger a message archive :). Wuhu! I've really wanted this!

It does remind me a lot of Yahoo! Mail Beta, just without the ads. What I think companies really need to do is start integrating Meebo in with their email services.

OMG! Looks just like Yahoo! mail beta! Tabs, reading pane... Biggest difference is the universal chat. I'm guessing it gets Email from other sites using POP. If so, it can only integrate Email from paid accounts for many sites. How come third parties can connect IM platforms easily, while the big boys have such trouble at it? Yahoo! took years to connect Y! to MSN messenger, and now the two aren't connected in the integrated mail messenger. Also, Yahoo! mail beta chat really needs a chat archive. I bet (at least currently) that Y! mail beta is significantly faster. It's gotten very peppy since the last update. The speed is actually comparable to desktop mail apps! Does this thing have drag drop or right-click menus?
