Earlier today Opera Watch posted a reminder of the pending Opera Mini 4 Beta release that’s coming tomorrow. What’s so big about this release? Well, only a handful of people actually know, but the Opera Mini team has posted some clues as to what the big new feature is.

Blockbuster Lends Support to Blu-Ray

HD DVD’s and Blu-Ray DVD formats have been battling ever since they entered the market as competitors.  Now Blu-Ray has a huge supporter on their side as Blockbuster has decided that when they increase their selection of high definition DVD’s next month, Blu-Ray will be the chosen format.  This will occur in 1,450 stores and will be another push to determine which format will be the overall market preference.

New Version of FastAero Available for XP Users

Several of you expressed interest in FastAero the last time I wrote about it, so here is an update on the progress. A new version was just released today that has pretty much been rewritten, and boasts some performance updates which appears to help quite a bit!

Vispa: Customize Windows Vista

Vispa is a tiny application that doesn’t require any installation, and has many options to customize your Windows Vista installation. All of the things that you can alter with Vispa can be done without the application, although many of the settings would require that you dig into the Windows Registry if you would want to change them.

Apple to Work with Mercedes on Navigation?

There’s an unconfirmed rumor floating around that Apple is working with Mercedes on a navigation system. The rumor comes from a German magazine called “Focus” which claims that starting in 2009, the new navigation system used in Mercedes will be designed by Apple.

YouTube Mobile and Remixer Reviews

I’ve been playing around this morning with two new YouTube services that launched this weekend: YouTube Mobile and Remixer. The Remixer service is something that YouTube has needed for awhile. It lets users edit their videos using a simplified interface, and also makes it easy to add special effects and transitions.

CyberNotes: Changing the Sounds in Windows Vista

I’m one that tends to turn off most of the system sounds on my computer. I’ve never really found them useful, and in fact, most of the time they annoy me. Last August when it was reported that Microsoft was not going to allow you to disable the startup sound in Vista, many people including myself were a little upset. Luckily they changed their minds, and I can now disable it.
