For everyone venturing out to get a nice new iPhone today one of the first things you’ll be needing to do is download the iTunes 7.3 which was just released. Once you get it installed you’ll actually be able to activate the iPhone so that you can start using it!
Of course iPhone goodness isn’t all that the new version of iTunes brings, it also adds wireless photo sharing capabilities to the Apple TV:
- Activate your iPhone service
- Sync iPhone with your music, movies, TV shows, and more
- Wirelessly share digital photos from any computer in your home with Apple TV
Some commenters over at TUAW also say that this update fixes a problem on the MacBook where the acclaimed Cover Flow would be blurry. Another commenter also noticed that there is a help section for the iPhone that references an online manual, but it doesn’t seem to be available yet.
It’s hard to believe that the iPhone is almost here, and I can’t wait to read the "real" reviews on it.

i f*cking hate the iphone.
i’ve been automatically burying every Digg story about it for the past week or so.
and anyone that waits in line for one of the over-priced 1st-gen models is a complete loser.

Wow, how do you really feel about the iPhone?
i guess, it is a pretty good phone, or multimedia device as nokia likes to call and also touch technology implementation is very innovative .. which i think maybe all phone manufacturers need to follow, but it has some draw backs,
1- no not the price (i know it sounds crazy) but lets be reasonable N95 is $700 and many phones cost $400~500 so i guess you take what you are paying for and don’t forget that you are getting 8GB memory too, i’m just against the overpriced accessories that apple offers, and of course the at&t contract.. (i’m not an American citizen by the way)
2- not a 3G phone, of course the biggest drawback here
3- i don’t like the screen resolution it should have been better like 480×640 than 320×480 to give sharper reading for text
4- 2MP cam is a bit on the low side, like any mainstream phone in the market, it should have been 3.2MP at least and have video capability too
I would have loved to see a nice camera in the phone, say around 5MP. That would have really bumped it up to a real camera in my opinion.
And the fact that this is not a 3G phone is a huge drawback as you mentioned. Verizon just announced the “Rev. A” today which gives download speeds of up to 1.4Mbps and uploads of up to 800Kbps…I would like to see the iPhone do that!
HTC TyTN, ftw.
