Firefox 3 to Make Users More Aware of Domain Name

Mozilla added two nice new features in Firefox 3 nightlies that should help protect users from phishing attacks. The first feature will be familiar to those of you using the LocationBar2 extension, and it was actually added by the same person who developed the extension. The goal of this feature is to make the domain and subdomains in the URL stand out a little more.

Google had Google Apps (among other things) in mind when they went after Postini to acquire them. The acquisition for Postini, a communications security and compliance company was announced today for $625 million.

Vista SP1 Beta Coming This Month!

I know a large number of people have been holding out on upgrading to Vista until the first Service Pack is released, and that time might be coming before year’s end. According to unnamed sources that Mary Jo Foley has, a Beta version of Vista SP1 will be available mid-month...which is actually next week.

Sony Drops PS3 Price – Too Little, Too Late?

Late last week there was a lot of chatter going on that Sony was going to be dropping the Playstation 3 price. A Circuit City add for the week of July 15th displaying the PS3 at a decently reduced price gave further indication that it was coming, but Sony never confirmed it, and in fact they denied it.
