There is some bad news for those of you taking advantage of free media center software, such as MythTV or Media Portal. As it turns out Zap2it couldn’t continue to provide the television listings that many free media center applications were using.

Space Tourism: Orbiting Hotel to Open in 2012

The thought of boarding a rocket to whisk you off to outer-space for your next hotel stay seems like something you’d see in a movie, doesn’t it? It’s not though because expected in 2012, a hotel called “Galactic Suite” will be the first orbiting hotel. The $3 billion that it will cost to build the hotel has been paid for, mostly by a former aerospace engineer. Guests who travel to the hotel will wear “velcro suits to “crawl” around pod-like rooms so that they can stick themselves to the wall — Spiderman style.”

Google Introduces Shared Storage

Google has always offered the option to purchase additional storage for your Picasa account, however, now that purchased storage is for more than just your Picasa account.  Google has started a new shared storage program in which your paid storage can be used across other Google services.  For now, the only two options are Gmail and Picasa, but I’m sure Google intends to add additional services to the list like Google Docs & Spreadsheets.

CyberNotes: Great Video Game Reenactments

Most of you have played Minesweeper before, I’m sure, but have you thought about what the classic game would be like if it were turned into a movie? The crew over at CollegeHumor got their creative juices flowing when they came up with Minesweeper: The Movie. It puts a whole new spin on the classic game, and I must admit, it’s funny.
