Zoho has been busy launching application after application, giving users a near complete web-based office suite that’s really quite impressive. Today they announced a new addition to Zoho, however this time, it’s not a new application. Instead, they’re taking the opportunity to bring some of their services together by launching an integrated start page.
Microsoft shipped several new updates today via the Windows Update system for both XP and Vista. Typically these updates are only sent out on the second Tuesday of each month, which is referred to as Patch Tuesday, but each year Microsoft throws a few curve balls and pushes out updates outside of their schedule.
I’ve been addicted to sidebars ever since I bought my first widescreen monitor. Sidebars have the ability to provide a lot of information inside a very small space, and it wasn’t until recently that I fully started to utilize them.
The message to auto-makers has been made clear – hybrid does matter and the more affordable, the better.
Videohybrid is essentially an illegal sharing ring for movies, tv, shows, anime, and cartoons. In some sense it is similar to Peekvid, except that they let users request videos. Registered users can then vote up requests in a Digg-like fashion, and the first person who fulfills the request earns all of the points it has racked up.
It’s amazing what AllofMP3.com has been through over the last year. They’ve been on a wild roller-coaster ride that looks as though it may be ending soon.
A recent article posted at News.com talks about the deep interest that scores of investors have in social-networking web sites. There’s no doubt why there is such interest – many of these sites have proven to be extremely successful and experience continuous growth and support from venture firms.
Ever wonder who’s calling you when it’s a number you don’t recognize? I’m one of those that really won’t answer my phone if it’s not someone I know, but then I’m always left curious of who it was that called, especially if they don’t leave a message.
The WordPress development team is on the home stretch to releasing the next milestone! WordPress 2.3 is scheduled for an official release on September 20, and right now they are looking for people to test out the first Beta.
A month after Vista was released marked the beginning of an amazing application called Start++. It adds features that make the usefulness of Vista’s Start Menu more than double what it is out-of-the-box. I learned a new term over the weekend, and it’s called Bacn! What is Bacn? No, it’s not the delectable bacon that you eat for breakfast, instead it’s the new term for emails that are a cross between spam and personal mail. Here’s a message regarding Bacn from the people who coined the new word:
There are a slew of online Photo editors these days, but only a few really stand out for me. One of them is Picnik which we reviewed back in April, and another is FotoFlexer, which is pretty new to the scene of photo editing. While they may be fairly new, they provide a service that offers complex features but is simple to use.
Just last week we wrote about a service Yahoo! provides that lets you bring your existing emails, contacts, and calendar from your existing email account. The only problem, as my brother pointed out when using it, is that you could get locked out of your Gmail account temporarily because of the heavy access:
My absolute favorite PDF reader just got an update! Foxit Reader 2.1 is one of those free programs that I always have on my computer. It beats Adobe Acrobat Reader hands down in terms of startup speed (without using a pre-launcher), and has many of the same features. As expected, Foxit 2.1 added a bunch of new things that make this free PDF reader even more lovable:
Acer, the Taiwan based computer company, has announced that they are buying Gateway! The acquisition of Gateway for $710 million will make Acer the 3rd largest PC company in the World, overtaking China’s Lenovo.
I’ve been a huge fan of the online Google Reader ever since they launched the much needed redesign almost a year ago. Since then I think they’ve taken feed reading to a whole new level, and have drawn many users away from Bloglines.
Yahoo has announced the launch of an “all-new Yahoo! Mail” that has quite the list of new features including chat capabilities right inside Yahoo Mail, and the option to send and/or receive text messages. Many of you have been trying out some of the new features since the public beta launched back in September of 2006.
Most of you have probably at least heard of Windows Photo Gallery in Windows Vista. It’s a great tool built-in to Vista that helps you organize photos, add ratings and captions, as well as metadata tags to photos.

I’m a huge fan of coming up with cheap hacks that replace otherwise expensive solutions. I thought I would use this article to discuss creating a low-cost laptop sleeve from various items, as well as picking up a nice laptop stand at the store for under $5. Hopefully these instructions will save you some time and money...
