Ubuntu 7.10 Review & Screenshots (Beta)

I started off my morning with some Ubuntu 7.10 action since the first Beta had just been released. I downloaded the 688MB ISO image, burned it to CD, and got started immediately with the Live CD.  It took a few minutes for it to boot up, but that's expected since I'm running the operating system off of the CD I burned.

Need an iPhone Relocker for your iBrick?

Apple warned several days ago that it was possible that the latest update to the iPhone could brick unlocked phones, but most people took it as a scare tactic. Unfortunately for them, Apple was right and many of the modified phones no longer work. Fortunately though, not all of the unlocking software causes problems, and the update from Apple is optional.

Halo 3 Brings in $170 Million in the First 24 Hours

The first 24 hours of Halo 3's release was HUGE for Microsoft as Xbox 360 users forked out a total of $170 million for the game. Remember, that was only the first 24 hours! That $170 million was enough to make the launch of Halo 3 the biggest in entertainment history - bigger than any Hollywood movie.

Mockups of the Firefox 3 Safari Theme

One of the goals of Firefox 3 is for the Mac version of the browser to feel like a real Mac application. Mozilla tried to show a little bit of love to the Mac fans in Firefox 2 by making it fit in a bit better, but all the Mac users I know are still running it with a Safari-like theme.

Test the New Live Search – Results Closer to Google

The other day we wrote about the upcoming Live Search redesign, and last night Microsoft posted an official announcement on it. On the Live Search blog they said that they are rolling out the new design across the world right now, but I still don't see the changes.
