Sketchcast – Where Bloggers Become Artists

There's a new way to express an idea to your readers, and it's called Sketchcast. It's essentially a YouTube for doodles or sketches, and you can draw with a mouse or a stylus (if your computer supports it).

MySpace is looking to cater to mobile phone users with their new ad-supported mobile version of the social network which launched today at mobile.myspace.com.  It'll be free for users and will work on all U.S. carriers.  MySpace has become such a phenomenon and ranks as one of the most visited sites globally, it makes sense for News Corp. to develop a mobile version.

Vista Ultimate Extras are Ultimate Disappointment

For Windows Vista Ultimate users, the extras that were promised have turned into the Ultimate Disappointment. A premium price was paid to get these "extras", yet only four have been released so far and the promise that they made to deliver the remaining 20 language packs by the end of Summer was just broken as Fall began yesterday.

OLPC Retail Price: $399 (Give 1 Get 1)

The OLPC price talks have subsided, and consumers that want to get their hands on an XO laptop will have to fork out $399 (£200/€225) on the November 12th release date. What was once considered to be the $100 laptop now actually runs $200 to manufacture, and therefore with every retail purchase an XO laptop will also be donated by a campaign known as "Give 1 Get 1."

The Hunt for Gmail 2.0 Features

It's been over three years since Google opened their doors to their web-based email service called Gmail, which at the time shattered all existing storage limitations. To make Gmail a worldwide service Google has people translate phrases into their native language. Instead of spending money on professional translators they just enlist the help of common users who are fluent in multiple languages.

CyberNotes: Facts and Photos of Bill Gates’ House

Microsoft Monday

A few weeks ago for our Microsoft Monday feature, we posted an article titled "Little Known Facts about Bill Gates." While we all know Bill Gates as the King of Microsoft, there were still some things many people didn't know - like his SAT score was 1590 and the top score for the test is 1600.

Vidoop Replaces Passwords with Images

Usernames and passwords have been around for ages, and password cracking techniques have been getting more advanced. Now there are phishing scams that are designed to confuse the user with a realistic looking site, and there are keyloggers that try to record passwords typed in with the keyboard. Is Vidoop the solution to these vulnerabilities?

Reverse Phone Look-Up Service WhoCalled.us

The best reverse phone lookup service I've discovered so far has got to be Sullr (our review) because they search various sources for the number you entered and the interface is easy on the eyes. Not only does it display the name the number belongs to, they also map the address for you.

MyFive: Best NES Accessories and Features

The original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was a monster with its 2KB of RAM, and it rocked out with a 256x240 resolution. It's hard to believe that such a good system was ever taken off of store shelves, but I guess that's the lifecycle of technology.

A Ridiculous $5 Billion Lawsuit Against Google

This has to be one of the furthest fetched lawsuits that I've ever seen. Dylan Jayne is suing Google for having a company name that is similar to his Social Security Number (SSN), well, with the help of the Philadelphia 76er's that is. Jayne claims that flipping his SSN number upside down, and scrambling it around leaves him with a disturbing result that could possibly endanger his identity.

If the iPhone was Free…

If the iPhone was free, would you get one and be willing to lock into a two-year agreement with AT&T? It's a question worth thinking about because an article over at The Unofficial Apple Weblog suggests that within a year, we may see a free iPhone available to consumers, with either Apple or AT&T eating the cost.
