Woot Mocks Jobs’ Open iPhone Letter

First of all, Woot has the Microsoft Zune 30GB Digital Media Player as their deal of the day today for $129.99 plus $5 shipping - not a bad deal. The last time they sold the Zune, they offered it for $149.99, so it's $20 bucks cheaper. That's not what this post is about though, it's about the product information to describe the Zune which is hilarious.

It seems as though there are some big fans of the Mac OS Leopard Dock that will be launching later this year with the new operating system. Well, they might be Leopard fans, but they're running Windows. :)

NBC to Offer Free TV Show Downloads

It was just a couple of weeks ago that NBC announced that it didn't intend to renew their contract with iTunes once their current contract runs out in December. Some people thought the little argument between Apple and NBC would soon be over, and NBC shows would remain on iTunes come December. Unfortunately for iTunes users, there's no kissing and making up here.

MediaDefender: The Hunter Becomes the Hunted

MediaDefender is a popular company who's goal is to thwart illegal file, music, and movie sharing. Their 60 employees and 2,000 servers are used to post fake files (that appear to be real) on the file sharing networks, and they can load corrupt data into the files being downloaded on the Kazaa network.

CyberNotes: Photo Seam Carving using Liquid Resize

Seam carving (also known as content aware image resizing) has been the hit lately when it comes to photo editing. It all started with the presentation by Ariel Shamir who put together a nearly breathtaking demo. In it he showed how scaling images could be done without losing or distorting the important aspects of photos.

YouTube Comments Parody

The YouTube comment system has got to be one of the worst forms of expressions that I've seen in a long time. YouTube has become a dumping ground for spammers and people who say just about anything and everything, regardless of whether it applies to the video's topic.

Microsoft has been good about keeping a tight leash on the information that's been made available for Mac Office 2008, but they've finally splurged and posted several video demonstrations of the new version in action.

Upload Photos in Bulk with Photobucket

Photobucket is one of the most popular photo and video sharing sites on the web, yet the process of uploading photos has always been pretty tedious because they haven't offered a bulk uploader. Until today, that is. That's right, Photobucket finally has a bulk uploader that will allow you to upload up to 100 images at a time.

DeskSpace – Stunning 3D Virtual Desktop Cube on Windows

You may remember an application called Yod'm that we wrote about back in March. It brought the famous 3D Linux virtual desktop manager over to the Windows side, but it was pretty rough around the edges.

Google Uses Billboard to Promote GOOG411

So there a use for billboards after all! The fact of the matter is, billboard advertising is kind of "old-school" these days compared to the latest fad of web advertising. It's considered to be a more traditional method for advertising, but this hasn't stopped Google - King of advertising on the web, from using a billboard to promote their GOOG-411 service.

Download IBM Lotus Symphony Without Registration

IBM has decided that it too wants to offer a free Office suite called Lotus Symphony, and after playing with it for just a short while I have to say that I'm very impressed with the route they have taken. For starters they are working off of the OpenOffice.org technology, which in its current state is leaps and bounds ahead of many Microsoft Office alternatives.
