OpenSUSE 10.3 Review (Release is Tomorrow)

For the longest time I was always a huge fan of OpenSUSE. Up until about a year ago that was all I used on the Linux side of things, but Ubuntu's quickly rising popularity caused me to start using that more. Tomorrow, however, will mark the release of OpenSUSE 10.3, and I flipped through a lot of documentation today to see what it was going to include.

Is Copying Music You Own Stealing?

Many of us buy CDs and rip the music to our computers so that the songs can be put on a portable device like an iPod, Zune, etc. Many of us also do the reverse and purchase songs online, and then burn them to a CD so that they can be listened to in the car, or anywhere else. Neither of those situations in my book, is considered stealing.

Bungie and Microsoft Breaking Up?

Bungie Studios is best known for creating the Halo series for Xbox which has turned into one of the best-selling games of all time. After all, Halo 3 managed to bring in $170 Million in the first 24 hours of sales! Halo hasn't been the only thing to come out of Bungie though.

New Updates Increase Vista’s Performance

Microsoft has quietly released four new updates for Vista that improve on performance and reliability. As of right now it's unclear as to which of these updates, if any, will be made available on October 9th's Patch Tuesday, but they are currently all available for individual download.

Zoho has expanded its web service offering once again by introducing the new Zoho DB, which is a complete database and report management tool. It has a familiar spreadsheet interface that users will quickly be able to adapt to, and the chart creator is unbelievably simple.

Zune 2 Release Date in November

Microsoft has unveiled the new Zunes, and the initial reports are good! Engadget says that the Zune's "definitely have a lot going for them" while jkOnThe Run says that the Zune has taken "2 steps in the right direction." It's not so much the hardware that's going to wow consumers, it's the software.
