Big Xbox 360 Update Coming (Yep, DivX)

On December 4th at 2:00AM PST Xbox 360 owners (with an Xbox LIVE subscription) will be able to get some awesome new features at no additional cost! At the top of the feature list is MPEG-4 Part 2 video support, which means that most of your DivX and Xvid files will now be play on the system! This was expected, however, because of the DivX/PS3 compatibility that was announced earlier this month.

RIAA May Lose Funding from Record Labels

Some of you may not realize it, but record companies (like EMI, Warner, Sony BMG and Universal) pay rather large amounts of money each year to trade groups like the RIAA and the IFPI which funds their operations. In return, these groups support the artists and labels and spend some of their money to help stop piracy.

This Just In: Vista & Leopard Both Suck!

Oliver Rist, an editor at PC Magazine, decided to take a new perspective on the who Vista sucks theme going around. Normally I just pass right by these articles, but his really caught my attention by saying that Leopard is the New Vista. The article, to say the least, is hilarious. Checkout my favorite parts of the article:

Linksys Directs Customers to Phone Sex Chat Line

Whoops! Looks like Linksys made a small little mistake on a Wireless-G Home Router box that they recently sold a lot of.  Apparently on the day after Thanksgiving, Circuit City and other stores sold the router for pretty cheap ($20 after rebate).

New Firefox 3 Location Bar

I just updated my Firefox nightly build, and it's impossible not to notice the new location bar. I sat there for a minute almost like a deer staring into headlights because I just wasn't sure what to think about it. It's, well, big.

Recommendations & Drag-and-Drop come to Google Reader

It's amazing to think about how much has changed with Google Reader since it was released back in October of 2005. They've done a great job of making some major revisions to the service by adding new features and tweaking the interface so that it's easier and more efficient to use.

Helpful Tip: Paste Multiple Lines in Input Boxes

Have you ever been in Firefox and wanted to paste multiple lines of text into a single-line text field? You know, like in the example above where there is an address which has been placed on two different lines, but if you paste that into the Google Maps search field it will cutoff anything on the second line.

Public Vista SP1 Release Candidate by Mid-December?

Mary Jo Foley has tapped some of her sources to try and get information regarding Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1), and it appears that she didn't come up empty handed this time around. Her sources said that Vista SP1 RC will be in the hands of testers as early as next week, and that the public will be able to get a taste of it the following week. I'm definitely down with that if it works out that way.
