If you haven't seen of, or at least heard of the "Dummies" books, I don't know where you've been living! Ever since the first "For Dummies" book hit the shelves back in 1991, they've been a huge success. At this point they cover nearly any topic possible, focusing on ones that are complex, confusing, or intimidating. Seeing as the entire topic of computers, hardware, software, and the Internet can be a bit intimidating, there's a

One of the things that Alex Faaborg presented back in July was a mockup of what a cool tab switching (Ctrl+Tab) interface would look like in a browser. As it stands right now no versions of Firefox have an advanced interface for switching between tabs, but that could become a thing of the past.

Mozilla Links noticed that work has already begun on Ctrl+Tab replacement system for Firefox, and it might make

I moved over to the final release of Vista shortly after the consumer launch in January 2007, and

Considering the amount of money the music industry pours into trying to stop people from downloading music from file sharing networks, I think it's fair to say that they believe their efforts will help increase the sales of CDs. They must, otherwise the RIAA wouldn't be suing people left and right, and spending so many days in court trying to "help the music business thrive." Given this, the question of the year is, does illegal

Just yesterday my Gmail account was upgraded to the new Gmail 2.0, and I can say first hand that there are definitely some speed improvements. Opening up emails only takes a split second, and the new contact manager is uber sweet. The coolest thing, however, is the new ability to bookmark emails, labels, and locations. For example, bookmarking:

Back in October when we wrote about Skype introducing high quality video calling for Windows and Mac users, Richard pointed out in the comments that the Linux version didn't even have basic video support yet. I'm sure he wasn't the only one feeling like Skype was ignoring Linux users, and perhaps that's why Skype got to work to on a new version.  Recently Skype launched Skype 2.0 beta for Linux with the major change
