I think that some people do it more for the excitement. I know that's why we do it...sometimes it is fun to sit in line with friends or family and just chat away until the doors open up. In my eyes it is all part of the holiday season. Sure some people get rather rude when it comes to buying items, but there are still a lot of people who are in good spirit.

Oh, and I can't forget to mention that I worked in retail for several years, and was there for all of the Black Friday's. It's nice to be on the other end of things.

We picked up a Garmin GPS, which is super nice! Glad you got a deal.

Many people do what they can by donating to churches, organizations, and more. Many people will be purchasing presents this year anyway, and by saving money they could have more money to donate. There are a lot of different ways you can look at it.

U got it google. Our government already gives financial relief to starving countries, right outta our paychecks. Many relief organizations aren't trustworthy, either. I saw a 20/20 report where they interviewed Africans who said the relief goes mostly to the gov't officials, and little gets to the people. After many years of funding relief, their situation is worse than before. They said we should help them by stopping sending funds.

More money isn't the answer to every problem, no matter how much Bono would like you to think it is.

I accidentally got a VisionTek video card from Circuit City. Online. I woke up at 5 a.m. to try my luck, but the checkout line was crazy, so I just left. I went online and bought one for myself, same savings, same cash down the drain, but no lines. I don't see the point in camping out 12 hours before store opening. And I thought we had money problems. Tsk. I wish the sale was on gas, I don't like the 3 dollar per gallon prices around here (NC).

I just don't get it. I live in Panama in Central America, and I haven't seen this collective conduct just to get a bargain. Is money in the U.S. that bad that you have to run like crazy to get rid of it?

Culture is so different in other countries I guess. No wonder it's called "Black Friday". Black eye for your pocket!
