2007 CyberNet Awards: Most Productive Apps

The 2007 CyberNet Awards is wrapping things up by highlighting what we believe to be the Most Productive Apps of 2007. One of our favorite things to write about are programs that can help increase productivity, and it's only fitting to close with this award. A big thanks to all the developers of the following programs, because without them I don't know how I would get anything done!

Netscape Navigator Kicks the Can

I wish I could say that I'm surprised, but AOL has decided to kick the can on further Netscape Navigator developments. The Netscape team will publish security updates for one more month (until February 1, 2008), and after that Netscape Navigator will just be a memory. Here's what the Netscape blog had to say:

iPhone Firmware 1.1.3 Features

There has been a lot of buzz around the next iPhone firmware upgrade that is expected to be released as early as this week. At first there was some speculation that this is just a hoax, but if that was the case there has been way too much work put into it. A video has been provided, which we've embedded below, that demonstrates the various new features.

CyberNotes: Understanding Vista’s Reliability and Performance Monitor

When Vista came out, certain new features were talked about more than others, like Flip3D or the indexed search capabilities. One feature that wasn't really mentioned is the Vista Reliability and Performance Monitor. You may not have known that you have it, but you do.

Best Greasemonkey Scripts – Google Sidebar

One thing that I've always enjoyed with Google's test site, SearchMash, was the powerful sidebar that it included. It gives users quick access to videos, images, Wikipedia, blogs, and more. Determined to find a way to get similar features on the Google search page I decided to turn to Greasemonkey.

Helpful Tip: How to Move Windows with the Keyboard

One of the most frustrating things I experience because I have my laptop connected to a second monitor is that when I disconnect it, my windows don't always come back to the laptop monitor. I can see all of my applications in the taskbar, but when I click on some of them, they won't appear.

CyberNotes: Easily Locate Webcams Around the World

Sitting at the top of my life's to-do list is "travel as much as possible." Many people love to travel, and would love to do it often to see and explore places around the Globe. For most of us though, it'll be nearly impossible to get to every place we'd like to go.

Poll: How Many Remotes Do You Have?

Time to count up all of your remotes! Today we're asking how many remote controls you have in single room. For example, in our living room we have five remotes sitting on the table. It would make more sense to use one universal remote, wouldn't it? Yet I haven't come across one that I like enough to use.

There is a bug in WordPress right now that is rather critical for anyone who uploads posts without immediately publishing. Simply by manipulating the URL any visitor can view all future, draft, or pending posts. Our site vulnerable to this issue, but we patched it quickly because it could be used to retrieve the CyberNotes posts that we write ahead of time.
