Free DivX Pro Download for a Limited Time Only

Back in June, DivX offered a free version of DivX Pro for Windows and Mac which would normally cost $20.  They must be in the holiday mood because they’re once again offering it for free. All you need is a valid email address and you’ll be set to go.Remember, this is the Pro version which includes DivX Converter and DivX Pro Codec. Here’s a quick overview of the benefits that each provide:

  • DivX Converter
    • Drag-and-drop nearly any video format to create a high-quality, highly compressed DivX video
    • Merge and convert multiple videos into a single DivX file with an automatically generated menu
  • DivX Pro Codec
    • Higher performance, including multi-threaded support for better performance on all HyperThreaded, dual core and dual CPU (SMP) systems
    • More encoding options, including six carefully optimized encoding modes that balance visual quality and performance for virtually any application

Here’s the link that you’ll need to download DivX for Windows. This link also explains how the free holiday download will work. Essentially you’ll download the file, and then enter in your email address during the installation. Then you’ll receive an email with your serial number for DivX Pro. There’s also a Mac version, and the link for that download is here.

    Got error message at registration entry. Copy/pasted directly from email. It would have been good but not going to bother anymore now. :evil:

    Ok, I didn’t fugger up but got 2 emails instead. Two different codes. Just a heads up be aware that that could happen. Seems to be working ok now.

    Thanks for the post. Its always better to have a licensed version instead of pirated one - especially when it is for free

    Does DivX convert store bought DVD to Divx with the mpeg 2 codec?

    I haven’t used it in years, but if I remember correctly it does.
