Vista is the worst Windows ever. Even worse than Millenium. It really deserves number one.

I didn't see Yahoo on the list until you said that. WHY is Yahoo there? The new messenger versions are great, a little unstable, but both a-ok. I went back to 8.1 because I like the "classic skin" mode, not the special skins.

Wow Michael! I was surprised to see you use "Vista" and "solid" in the same sentence. :)

How ridiculous! Office 2007 is one of the best and most full-featured releases, not just from an interface point of view. I'm one of those users who knows the ins and outs of Office and yet I didn't find re-learning so difficult. There's a nice Quick Access Toolbar on the top in Ribbon apps where you can easily add ANY command in pre-Office 2007-style. I'm 100% sure those stupid editors only know basic stuff about Word/Excel/PowerPoint nothing more.

I disagree with your argument that the addition of the 3rd party applications to Facebook was a good thing. I'm so tired of seeing profiles that take 5 minutes to scroll to the bottom due to the hundreds of applications. I suppose they are ok in moderation, but nobody uses them in moderation.

What the hell kind of bizzaro list is this? I'm not sure I agree with more than one of those 15! They listed all the most well known products by MS and Apple, and then even added on general tech markets like Hi-Def, Social Networks, Internet Security... They even said Yahoo!!!

So, the top tech magazine basically just said the entire technology industry sucks.

Not only is this bizzare, it doesn't make any sense. Ex- PCWorld rated MS Office an 85:Very Good, calling it "a worthy upgrade."

I'm with you, arjay, PCWorld sucks. I usually go to pcmag.com when I want to see reviews. Before it was mainly because that site is easier to find reviews on. Now it'll also be because PCW seriously needs better perspective.

We better put PCWorld on our own disappointment list.

I just don't get what people don't like about Vista. The only issues I had so far was my games crashing, but after patching them up, they're as good as any other game (I'm still waiting for the NBA Live 08 patch, EA!). And the Vista sales went up (correct me again if I'm wrong, but I remember reading it somewhere). I think the Zunes are not supposed to be there, I mean, I don't have a Zune, but people I know love it, and since it is selling then it should be a success, right? The iPhone was selling out, so was Leopard. And people started saying that Leopard was so friggin' awesome just because its not Vista. Agh. Facebook sold well too. Plenty people joining + Microsoft buys them = big bucks for Zuckerberg.

Is it just me or does selling a lot mean disappointment for PCWorld? Quick, stop patronizing PCWorld so they'll be a big success. Pft.

It only takes me like two clicks to create a chart. I think it's easy to create a chart in Excel 2007 than it was previously.

social networks are losing their luster.

some of the other things are listed because they're annoying. the whole iphone/mac campaign is extremely annoying. it's more of a fashion statement than functionality.

vista hasn't gone over that well with consumers, at least the ones i've talked to.

zune seems to be doing well.

agree with the wireless carriers and broadband industry points.

I definitely understand the Office 2007 thing. If you are new to Office, then it's great (love the ribbons and new features), but it is riddled with many bugs that rear their ugly heads especially with using older files in the new Office. For example, if you don't have a locally defined, approved MS printer, you'll get very weird things happening with your powerpoint presentation (many of us don't as we print to a network printer). OR, if you use excel, try easily creating graphs without 5x as many clicks as you used to have... somethings they improved, some things they definitely did not.
