Nifty Business Card Thumb Calendar

December 17th, 2007
2 Comments Written by Ashley

How convenient would it be to have a readable calendar for the entire year on one business card? Lifehacker recently pointed out the “Thumb Calendar” created by Adam Sporka which has all of the months of the year on the front and back of a business card.  It’s a compact design that really is pretty nifty and would fit perfectly in your wallet. At first glance, it will look confusing. But stare at it for just a minute or two and you’ll quickly realize how cool it is and how it works.

You could either print the complete calendar on the front and back of a business card, or just print two — one for the first half, the other for the second half. Reading it is actually very simple, and your thumbs will definitely come in handy.

On his home page, Adam Sporka explains how it works:

  1. Find the month you want to read.
  2. Use your thumbs to cover the numbers that are not directly below the month header.
  3. Note the color of the month header. The last day of the month is rendered in the same color.

Right now, the only way to get the calendar is from his Flickr page, but he says that he’ll have the downloadable PDF version of the 2008 calendar on his site soon.

That is awesome. Seriously. That’s the smallest non-electronic calendar I think I’ve ever seen.

Kudos to the person who came up with this idea. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this commercialized, and sold in a laminated form.

 :|  8O :) :? 8) :D   :P  ;) :o  :x :( :!: :?:
