It still needs some improvements, but it has gone from being completely unusable a year ago to "hey I kinda like this" as of today. I think it will eventually get more mature and receive more of the features you're talking about, but it's not all that bad at this point (in my book).

Windows 7 hasn't officially hit Beta yet; the service packs for XP and Vista were notable, but mostly bug fixes; I'm not a huge fan of Vuze; iTunes 8.0 should have been included... I forgot about that one.

Yes, but I added Chrome largely because of what it can do for helping increase the popularity of the Webkit rendering engine. It will help get developers to focus on developing for standards just like Firefox has done.

A browser that doesn't support RSS feeds? What were they thinking at Google?

My vote is for Flock 2.0 for best update!

Open Office 3, and the latest updates for AVG Free 8 that make it less buggy and more of what is was supposed to be when it first came out.

I don't see Chrome as a viable candidate for this list at all. Still in its infancy as far as I can see.

Digsby wins for me. While I switched over to Chrome because it is quick and I love the minimalistic visual approach, Digsby is the best chat client I have ever used--and it continues to get better with more and more support for services. Doesn't hurt that it is easy to use and not bad looking either.

I want to thank you for including Flock on your list. Even though it doesn't have a large market share, they have been upgrading their software to such a degree, that it's the only social web browser around.

I'm glad you took the time to research and include this great application as a runner up. Needless to say, I'm a passionate daily Flock user.
